Backup File FAQ

Where are my backup files?

Prior to MBCB version 1.2.2, backup files were stored either on your device's internal storage or SD card, in a folder called MBCB.

Starting with MBCB 1.2.2, you choose where the backup files are saved to and restored from, including cloud storage if available.

Devices running versions of Android prior to 4.4 (KitKat) are not compatible with the new file storage method, so they continue to store files in the original location.

How do I restore old backup files?

To restore backup files created by MBCB versions 1.2.1 or earlier in your device's internal storage or SD card, using MBCB version 1.2.2 or higher, follow these steps:

1) In MBCB, tap the action menu (three dots) in the upper-right of the screen and select Backup/Restore

2) In the resulting File Browser window, tap the action menu and select Show Internal Storage (or Show External Storage, depending on your device)

3) Tap the "hamburger" menu (three lines) in the top-left, then tap on your storage device in the list (this might be the name of your phone/tablet, "SD Card", or something similar).

4) Tap the folder called MBCB, then tap the file you wish to restore.

Your device might have slightly different options, for example some have both internal and external storage, or even multiple external storage options.

The overall operation should be very similar, but the exact steps may be slightly different.
